Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) is seeking a Curator to work closely with a small and dynamic team of staff as well as external partners to initiate and deliver an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions, off-site projects and co-commissions and achieve our vision of providing UK audiences with meaningful experiences of Chinese contemporary visual culture.

CFCCA’s Curator oversees all aspects of administering the production and realisation of exhibitions including the coordination of logistics, transport of artworks, security, insurance of individual works, as well as booking artist travel and accommodation. They also work closely with the Director on future funding bids and audience development planning with a view to the future artistic programme at CFCCA.

CFCCA is the leading authority on Chinese contemporary art in the UK. The organisation has a diverse and rich 30-year history of supporting both national and international audiences and also local communities to understand more about Chinese contemporary art, culture and society. Our ongoing commitment to an evolving definition of Chinese art uniquely positions us to track changes, recognise trends, and identify emerging artists bringing pertinent questions to the fore. We have a proud history of UK ‘first’ solo exhibitions, featuring exceptional artists that go on to achieve international acclaim.

We draw upon the expertise of a wide network – including our Associate Curators based in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Taipei – and we are uniquely placed to work with universities and arts partners in the UK to support research and knowledge exchange, teasing out the transcultural debates that will shape our future.

Please note that fluency in written and spoken Chinese is an essential requirement for this post.

Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art is an Equal Opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
