Art Asia Pacific Review of latest Biljana Ciric book

On 03/02/2015 by CFCCA Administrator

Art Asia Pacific has recently published it’s review of A History of Exhibitions: Shanghai 1979 – 2006, by Shanghai-based independent curator Biljana Ciric. The publication documents a significant period in the development of the Shanghai art scene by focusing on 34 artist-initiated exhibitions from that period, ending with “38 Solo Exhibitions”, which was one of the largest exhibitions held in the city, but shut down by the authorities within hours of opening. Owing to lack of existing literature surrounding the exhibitions, Ciric draws on artist interviews and personal experience. You can read the review by Denise Tsui here.

A History of Exhibitions: Shanghai 1979-2006, is published by Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art.
